- Nicole Densmore, Sutton, NH
Your knowledge of child development and your
appropriate use of language and management skills sets you apart from
the many guests that enter the school system to share their
knowledge.
- Heather Anderson, Teacher, Portsmouth, NHHi Jeff! I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to see your
amazing work
with my third graders and to participate in one of your workshops
myself!! It was a blast. I have never seen such an enriching experience
for kids! We added drumming, tapping, and movement to our lessons today.
You're a
great reminder of how kids really learn!!!
-Jenn Bogard, Teacher, South Berwick, ME
Dear Jeff...Your skill as a master teacher and musician is nothing short of amazing! I was thrilled to watch students come alive with excitement and genuine desire to learn within minutes of beginning their workshops with you. It is one of the most inspiring experiences I have had over all the years that I have been teaching...You ignited passions in our students through masterful teaching and masterful leadership. The crucial message that you convey in your work regarding choices for responsible living and the way you cultivate awareness of the importance of good citizenship was so well received...I think that anyone who has the privilege of working with you has been fortunate indeed!
- Jahna Moncrief, Instrumental Director, Antrim, NH
Look no further for an extraordinary and
meaningful experience with an Artist in Residence. Jeff's approach to
the students encouraged and invited their creativity as they continued
to experience the reinforcing boosts to their self esteem. They spent
time writing, creating and finding strengths for the first
time...Please consider this the highest of
recommendations.
- Ann Rutherford, Assistant Principal, Kingston, NH
Thank you so much for enriching
the Kimball & Walker students with your residency. Your residency
far surpassed our expectations! Your knowledge and skills were always
age appropriate and made it fun and exciting for all students. You
taught the kids science as well as music - when they didn't even know
they were learning. We now have 'garage bands' started all over
Concord from various recyclable materials. Thank you for a wonderful
two weeks!
-Leah Brochu, Kimball PTO Treasurer When I first met Jeff Erwin, I knew that his
residency program would be the perfect match for our students. His
warmth and energy was most apparent, but what sold me was his love for
the creative journey that each residency unfolds for children. This
experience was truly remarkable for all our students, grades
kindergarten through five.
-Marianne Klemarczyk, Enrichment Coordinator, Kingston, NH
Thank
you for teaching us the beautiful sounds that come from everyday
items. We’ll never look at bundt pans or PVC pipes without thinking of
this moment that you so kindly shared with the South Meadow School
students. You’ve made musical memories for them to cherish.
-Brenda Saxton, South Meadow School, Peterborough, NH Dear Jeff, Thank you for bringing Junk 2 Funk to Kimball School. We have had an amazing week. Thank you for sharing your gifts as a teacher and musician with all of us. You have inspired us to look at 'junk' and hear music and rhythm from a new perspective!
-with appreciation from Kimball students, faculty and families
I have attended many performances in my thirty years as an educator and former director of the Artists in Residence Program at McClelland Elementary School, but I have never witnessed such a professional performance.
-Sherry Bryant, Teacher, Rochester, NH
...not only were his instruments fascinating, his teaching skills were impeccable. Our students were truly captivated. The fourth and fifth graders put on a dynamic show and were able to engage the entire school in dancing and singing! Jeff brought light, sound, fun and learning to the cold month of January!
-Sara Sanfor, Art Teacher, Fitchburg, MA
Thank you so much for last week. The kids and parents thouroughly
enjoyed it. I was talking to one of the parents over the weekend and
she said her boys went home and raided her recycling bin and made their
own instruments. I told her to take a picture and send it to you. That
is what we like to see. Thanks again!!!!
-Amanda Rucci, Eastman Recreation, Grantham, NH
Thank you for the energy, creativity and opportunity that you and your program brought to Second Start. I appreciate that you were willing to adjust what you typically do to fit our space and needs. Students continued to talk enthusiastically and positively about the event for the rest of the week. I have never seen this group of students so readily take risks, work together or outwardly express their excitement. It is a testament to not only the power of music, but your ability to engage and connect with a difficult population.
-Erica Feldman, Youth-At-Risk Teacher, Concord, NH
WOW! What a brilliant residency! What a fantastic performance! Jeff, your residency surpassed our wishes and expectations--something new, upbeat and engaging, a way to bring the students together as a unit in a fun learning experience. The students were totally engaged, having lots of fun and learning too when they were with you. I believe the proof of your positive impact on the students was in the rap and flowers they presented you with at the end of the Friday evening performance. BRAVO!
- Marlene Tabor, Russell School, Rumney, NH
You have inspired me as a teacher to take my recycling efforts in school a few steps further! Thanks!
-P. Dionee, Teacher, Derry, NH
I was amazed at how you could put together such a fabulous show in [a few] short days!
-Helene Rafferty, Teacher, Portsmouth, NH
You are fantastic with kids!! Thanks so much!
-Margie, Teacher, Portsmouth, NH
