Programs
Schools, Camps & Workshops
Trashcan Lid Productions' school residencies, camps and workshops (called Junk 2 Funk) are truly one-of-a-kind and have influenced the lives of
many youth throughout New England see feedback from students.
They
blend the disciplines of science, conservation & recycling, language
arts, math, pop culture, DJ skills, music and
performance art through fun, hands-on experiences
and incorporate
dozens of state curriculum
standards in the process. All programs are
modified to meet students at their developmental level and include
multi-sensory learning strategies. Most programs culminate in a
rhythmic, multi-media extravaganza performed by the students resembling a cross between the Broadway hits STOMP and
Blue Man Group. Jeff Erwin, creative Director and Founder of Trashcan Lid Productions, is a master teacher who has worked with students ages 3 to 23 since 1989 in various capacities. Some programming
options for residencies:
1. Jeff works with
the lower grade levels for one
week (or other agreed upon period of time) and then concentrates on one
or more of the upper grade-levels for a second
week (or other agreed upon period of time). The upper grade level(s)
then perform a show for the rest of the
student body. (At smaller schools Jeff can often
work with all students
in the school and have all students be a part of the performance.)
2. Jeff works with a
select grade level(s) for several days (depending on the number of
students this could be less or more than a week) followed by a
performance for the rest of the student body.
3. Jeff works with
the entire school for one or more
weeks (depending on the number of students) with no show at the end of
the residency. This is not recommended, however, as a performance works
beautifully to tie the residency together.
4. Custom design your
own residency in collaboration with Jeff.
